Pastor Joyce Rose Scott

Pastor Joyce Rose Scott was born in Franklin, Virginia and is the daughter of Mrs. Lois Rose and the late John R. Rose Sr. She received her early formal education in the Franklin, Virginia public schools and graduated from Hayden High School. She continued her formal education at Norfolk State University where she successfully majored in Nursing Education. Subsequently, she enrolled at the Norfolk Community Hospital School of Anesthesia under the cooperative auspices of the Howard University School of Medicine and successfully completed the art of Anesthetic Care.
Currently employed at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for the past 21 years, Pastor Joyce Rose Scott has the distinction of being the first African-American female Chief Nurse Anesthetist, a position she has held for 16 years. She serves as the Unit Director of the Department of Anesthesia, and is a former director of the Surgical Admittance and the Pre-admission Testing departments, respectively. Additionally, she has served as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) ombudsman for Chesapeake General Hospital. She is professionally affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, The Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and is a state-certified Licensed Practitioner.
Pastor Joyce Rose Scott answered God's call to the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach on November 23, 2003 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia under the pastorate of Bishop William Darryl Scott, Sr. She has served the church in several capacities. In addition to being the Elect Lady, she has served as president of the Beautification Ministry; member of the Constitution Committee, and chair of the Wedding Ethics Committee. Currently she is the Pastoral Administrative Assistant, Director of Women's Ministry, and a participant in Regent University's Church Initiative Program.
When she is not engaged in her church duties and responsibilities, she enjoys serving as the Chief Operating Officer for E. L. Ministries, an evangelistic/empowerment ministry she co-founded with her husband, Bishop William Darryl Scott Sr.
Pastor Joyce Rose-Scott is continually sought to minister locally, nationally, and internationally. Her commitments to God, family, and her brothers and sisters in Christ are admirable and commendable, and she blesses many with a bold spirit of proclamation that has enabled her to successfully minister as far away as Japan, England, and Africa.
Pastor Joyce Rose-Scott has been blessed to share 34 years in marriage to Bishop William Darryl Scott, Sr., the senior Pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist in Virginia Beach, Virginia and founder of E. L. Ministries. She is the proud mother of two wonderful children: Tasha Scott Beverly, an Assistant City Attorney in Norfolk, Virginia and Vice-President of Ministry and Administrative Overview with E. L. Ministries; and Darryl Scott, Jr., Director of Operations Media and Marketing at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Vice President of Fiscal Accountability and Marketing for E. L. Ministries of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters: Nia Alesa Mikkel Beverly and Brooklynn Alexis Mikkell Beverly; and a son-in-law, Attorney Michael Beverly.
